We had a long layover in Calgary before our next flight - approx. 7 hours! Kept busy with yakking :, setting up some tracking apps on my tablet, reading and of course food finding. Found the local Subway which was perfect for the budget and belly! :)
We thought that we were going to be lucky and have first class seating for the next flight to Frankfurt but it was not to be! Huge thunderstorm in Calgary delayed our departure and when we finally going we were told there would be no hot drinks in economy! Dang tomorrow morning's breaky was going to be a bit sad!
We arrived in Frankfort at 12:15 pm on the 30th of August, loaded out of the plane and onto a bus to get to the terminal. Lots of waiting and more waiting

We had checked our knapsacks and poles and they all arrived none the worse for travelling in the hold.
Now we race inside to find the Lufthansa ticket agent and learn that we have missed our flight by 7 minutes! More waiting!

Made it to
Paris and then found a shuttle to the train station to sort out ticket for tomorrow and a hotel. couldn't get the pay phones to cooperate however a fellow from
England and his son who lives in
Paris lent us their phone.
We had a good chat, booked our hotel and thanked them tons
!
